Kpenhangen Barnabas Tersue

Barnabas is a B.Tech Computer Science student at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and the founder of SBAM Techconnect Solutions. He grew up taking things apart to understand how they work, and that curiosity became a career that spans both hardware and software.

On the engineering side he has handled solar power and smart home installations, learning how infrastructure behaves once it leaves the lab and meets dust, heat, and daily use. On the product side he designs and ships cross platform mobile apps and campus scale platforms, owning everything from the first sketch to the live release.

DexTask is the project that brings both worlds together. He started it after watching students struggle every day to move across campus, find honest work, and trade with people they could trust. The friction was not a lack of ambition. It was a lack of verified infrastructure, a trusted layer that could connect mobility, income, and campus commerce under one account.

As Founder and CEO he represents DexTask inward and outward, chairs the organisation’s meetings, and holds final responsibility for direction, capital, and the hard calls that keep the platform safe. He works closely with Campus Operations, Trust and Support, People and Campus Relations, Brand and Growth, and Product and Platform so every module, rides, gigs, and marketplace, feels like one ecosystem. His leadership is hands on. He is in the field, in the conversations that decide what ships next, and in the work of building something students can rely on.

His goal is simple and ambitious: build infrastructure that students across Nigeria and the rest of Africa can depend on, one verified account at a time. Not a feature list. A foundation. Something durable enough that the next generation of student founders can build on top of it without starting from zero.
