1. Purpose of this page
This page is the return and exchange policy for physical goods offered on DexTask Campus Market, including DexTask Store and listings from verified student sellers. It explains when a buyer can ask to send an item back, when an exchange is available, how a refund is paid, and what DexTask will not promise.
It is written for buyers and sellers in Nigeria. Campus Market checkout happens in the DexTask mobile application. The website at dextask.app shows listings so people can read them. The website does not take payment and does not operate a separate cart.
The legally binding framework is the Terms and Conditions. How money is held and released is also described on Payments, Refunds, and Disputes. How to meet safely is on Safety and Trust. If this page and a live message in the App differ for a specific order, the message shown for that order and the payment record for that order prevail. We will correct the documents if we find a conflict.
This page does not take away a right that Nigerian law gives a buyer against the person who actually sold the goods. It explains the process DexTask operates on the platform.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy covers physical products bought through Campus Market checkout in the App.
It covers two kinds of seller:
- DexTask Store. These are goods DexTask offers in its own shop. The store name in the App and on the website is DexTask Store. For those goods, DexTask is the seller. DexTask is sponsored by SBAM Techconnect Solutions.
- Student listings. These are goods offered by a verified student seller in that seller's shop. For those goods, the student seller is the seller. DexTask provides the shop page, messaging, listing review, and Paystack checkout. DexTask does not manufacture those goods and does not warrant their quality merely because a listing was approved.
This policy does not cover campus rides, Keke trips, shuttle routes, gigs, or errands. Those have their own cancellation and refund rules on Payments, Refunds, and Disputes. A gig refund percentage is not a Campus Market return rule.
This policy does not cover boost fees, shop upgrade fees, or other promotion purchases. A boost is a placement purchase. It is not the price of the goods.
3. What a return means
A return means the buyer gives the physical item back and, where this policy says a refund is due, the money for that item is sent back to the original Paystack payment source used for that order.
A return is not a new negotiation of the price after the buyer has kept the item. It is not a way to borrow an item for a few days. It is not available for a listing that was never paid for and never handed over, except that an unpaid order can simply be left unpaid.
An exchange means DexTask, or a student seller who agrees, replaces the item with the same product when that product is still available. If the same product is not available, the outcome is a refund under this policy, not a credit note, voucher, or different product forced on the buyer.
DexTask does not operate a national returns warehouse and does not email a prepaid courier label. Returns on Campus Market are handled by handing the item back in person on campus, or to DexTask staff when the order is a DexTask Store order, as described below.
4. Where you buy, and where you ask for a return
Product pages on dextask.app describe the item, the price, the seller, and whether campus delivery is offered. To pay, the buyer opens the DexTask App. Payment is made in the App with Paystack, or, where that listing allows it, the buyer can choose to pay after delivery and then pay in the App when the order is out for delivery.
To ask for a return:
- Open the order in the App.
- Message the seller in that order's chat. For a DexTask Store order, use the order chat and Help and support.
- If payment is still held, open a dispute on that order and describe the problem. Add photos of the item, the packaging if you have it, and anything that shows the problem.
- If the App no longer offers a dispute because the order is already completed, email support@dextask.app within the time limit in section 6. Include the order number, the Paystack reference if you have it, and the photos.
Do not send a card number, CVV, PIN, or one-time password. DexTask does not need a new bank account from you in order to refund a Paystack charge. Anyone who asks you to "send a new account so we can refund you" is not following this policy.
5. The return window
The return window is 7 days.
The 7 days start when the item is handed to the buyer, or when the order is marked delivered in the App if the handover time is unclear. Count calendar days. If the last day is a Sunday or a public holiday in Nigeria, the buyer may send the request on the next working day.
A request is on time only if both of these are true:
- the buyer messages the seller, or DexTask support for a DexTask Store order, within those 7 days; and
- where the App still allows a dispute because payment is held, the buyer opens that dispute within those 7 days.
Seven days is the outside limit. It is not a promise that payment stays held for 7 days. Campus Market checkout holds payment until the buyer confirms receipt. Confirming receipt is the buyer's statement that they have the item and accept it. After confirmation, payment can be released to the seller. Once payment has been released, Paystack may no longer allow DexTask to reverse that charge. Section 14 explains what support can still review.
Inspect the item at handover, in a public campus place, before you confirm receipt. See Safety and Trust.
6. Change of mind, before you confirm receipt
A buyer may refuse a non-defective item, or ask to return it, for a change of mind only if all of the following are true:
- the buyer has not confirmed receipt in the App;
- the request is inside the 7-day window;
- the item is unused, unwashed, and in the condition in which it was handed over, with tags, chargers, parts, and accessories that came with it;
- the item is not in a category excluded in section 8;
- the buyer can hand the item back as section 12 describes.
A change of mind is not available after the buyer has confirmed receipt following a chance to inspect the item. Confirmation is the point at which the buyer accepts a non-defective item that matches the listing.
If the buyer refuses the item at handover and has not paid because they chose pay after delivery, they should not pay and should not confirm. Tell the person making the delivery, and tell support in the App if the order needs to be closed.
7. Defective, wrong, missing, or not as described
A buyer may ask for a return or a refund when any of these is true:
- the item is broken, unsafe to use as sold, or materially damaged in a way the listing did not disclose;
- the item is the wrong product, the wrong size, or the wrong quantity;
- the item was not handed over;
- the item is materially different from the title, the photos of the actual item, and the written description, including the key features, specifications, and what is in the box when those sections were filled in;
- the item is counterfeit where it was listed as genuine, or it is stolen.
The buyer should say what is wrong, and should add photos or a short video taken at handover or as soon as the problem is visible. A hidden defect that could not reasonably be seen at a normal campus handover can still be reported inside the 7-day window, including after confirmation, by emailing support@dextask.app with the order number and the evidence. Support will review the order record. A review is not a promise that a released payment can be pulled back. Where the payment is still held, support can refund the buyer or release the seller, as section 13 describes.
DexTask Store items are sold as described on the DexTask Store listing. If a DexTask Store item arrives defective, wrong, or not as described, DexTask will take it back and will refund the item price or exchange it under section 10.
For a student listing, the student seller is responsible for the description they published. DexTask can hold the payment, look at the chat and the photos, and decide the platform outcome in section 13. Approval of a listing before it went live is not a warranty.
8. Items we do not take back for a change of mind
The following are not eligible for a change-of-mind return. A buyer can still report them under section 7 if they are defective, dangerous, wrong, missing, or not as described:
- food, drinks, and other perishable goods;
- items made or altered to the buyer's measurements or instructions, once work has started or the item has been handed over as ordered;
- underwear, swimwear, and other intimate or hygiene items once the seal or hygiene packaging is open, or once they have been worn;
- items the listing clearly described as final sale because of a disclosed defect, and the buyer received that disclosed condition;
- digital codes, airtime, subscriptions, and other items that are consumed when they are revealed;
- services, repairs, and gigs.
Ordinary used goods are allowed on Campus Market when the listing says they are used. A used item that matches that description is not defective merely because it is used. A change-of-mind return of a used item is still possible only under section 6, and only if the buyer has not used it further after handover.
9. DexTask Store orders
DexTask Store is DexTask's own shop. Students pay DexTask. Staff arrange the item and campus delivery. The public order number looks like DX- followed by the rest of the reference. The buyer should keep that number. It is the number support uses.
For a DexTask Store order the buyer may:
- refuse a non-defective item before confirming receipt, under section 6;
- return a defective, wrong, or not-as-described item under section 7;
- ask for an exchange of the same DexTask Store product when that product is still in stock.
If the same product is not in stock, DexTask refunds. DexTask does not require the buyer to accept a different product.
DexTask Store payment follows the method the buyer chose in the App. If the buyer paid with Paystack at checkout, the payment is held until the buyer confirms receipt. If the buyer chose pay after delivery, the buyer pays in the App when the order is out for delivery. A buyer who has not paid should not pay for an item they are refusing at handover.
10. Exchanges
DexTask accepts exchanges on these terms.
For DexTask Store, the buyer may exchange a returned item for the same product if that product is still published and in stock. The exchange is arranged with DexTask staff through the order chat or support@dextask.app. If the replacement cannot be supplied, the buyer receives a refund of the item price instead. The buyer is not charged a second item price for a like-for-like exchange of the same product.
For student listings, an exchange happens only if that seller agrees in the order chat and can hand over the same product. DexTask does not force a student seller to provide a different item. If the seller does not agree, or does not have the same product, the buyer's remedy is a refund decision under section 13, not an exchange.
An exchange follows the same 7-day window and the same exclusions as a return. The item handed back must meet section 6 or section 7, whichever applies.
11. Refunds, and what is refunded
When a return or a failed delivery is approved and the payment is still held, or Paystack still allows a refund of that charge, the refund goes to the original Paystack payment source for that order. DexTask does not send Campus Market refunds to a new account number collected by chat.
What is refunded:
- Item not delivered, wrong item, or defective or not as described on arrival. The item price is refunded. The campus delivery fee for that order is also refunded, because the buyer did not receive what was ordered.
- Change of mind before confirmation, after the item was delivered as described. The item price is refunded once the item is handed back in acceptable condition. The campus delivery fee is not refunded, because the delivery was completed. DexTask does not add a restocking fee on top.
- Pay after delivery, and the buyer has not paid. There is no Paystack charge to refund. The order should be closed without payment.
- Out of stock after a successful charge. If an item is no longer available after payment, the charge for that item is refunded to the original payment source. The App states that outcome on that order.
DexTask does not refund a boost fee under this returns policy.
A refund of a Paystack charge depends on Paystack and the buyer's bank. We aim to start an approved refund promptly after the item is back, or after support has decided that a return of the physical item is impossible because it was never delivered. The in-app note for other DexTask refunds asks buyers to contact support if a refund has not arrived within 24 hours after it is initiated. That 24-hour note is a support trigger, not a promise by the receiving bank.
If payment has already been released to a student seller, section 14 applies. DexTask will not pretend that a released payout can always be reversed.
12. How to hand the item back
The buyer returns the item in person. There is no postal return address and no prepaid shipping label.
- Student listing. Hand the item back to that seller at a public place on campus, or another public place you both agree in the order chat. Do not go to a private room, a hostel room you do not know, or a location that Safety and Trust tells you to avoid.
- DexTask Store. Follow the instruction in the order chat or from support. DexTask staff receive the item back. Keep the DX order number.
The buyer is responsible for bringing the item to that handover. DexTask does not charge a separate return shipping fee, because there is no courier return. The buyer also does not receive a new delivery of a refused item at DexTask's expense, except for a DexTask Store exchange under section 10.
Take photos of the item at the return handover if there is any disagreement about condition.
13. How DexTask decides
DexTask looks at the listing, the order status, the chat, the payment state, and the photos or video the buyer and seller provide. DexTask is not a court. For a disputed Campus Market order, staff can:
- refund the buyer and close the order as refunded, where the payment is still held or a Paystack refund path is still open;
- release the payment to the seller and close the dispute in the seller's favour, where the item matched the listing and the return is not covered;
- ask for one clearer photo or a short written timeline before deciding.
A false dispute, a return of an item the buyer damaged after delivery, or a claim that an item never arrived when the records show a confirmed handover, is a breach of the Terms and Conditions and the Community Guidelines. DexTask may restrict the account.
Sellers must not pressure a buyer to confirm receipt before the buyer has the item. Buyers must not confirm receipt and then claim a change of mind. Both of those behaviours can decide the dispute.
14. After you confirm receipt
Confirm receipt only when you have the item and you have checked it against the listing.
After confirmation, the payment can be released. The App can then refuse a new dispute because funds are no longer held. If, within the 7-day window, the buyer finds a defect that was not reasonably visible at handover, the buyer should email support@dextask.app with the order number, photos, and the time they noticed the problem. DexTask will review. Where the law or Paystack still allows a refund, DexTask can use that path. Where the payout has already been completed, DexTask may still restrict a seller who misdescribed an item, but DexTask does not promise to pay the item price out of its own pocket for a peer listing.
For DexTask Store, DexTask is the seller. A hidden defect reported inside the 7-day window on a DexTask Store order is handled by DexTask as the seller, including a refund of the item price where the defect is confirmed, subject to Paystack being able to refund a charge that was already captured.
15. Pay after delivery
Some DexTask Store products, and some listings, allow the buyer to pay after the order is out for delivery. The choice is made in the App. The buyer then pays that order in the App. Paying outside the App to a personal account is not a Campus Market payment and is not covered by this policy.
If the item is wrong, damaged, or not what was listed when it arrives, do not confirm receipt. If you have not paid yet, do not pay. Contact support in the App with photos. If you have already paid and the payment is still held, open a dispute under section 7.
16. Delivery fees and several items in one checkout
Campus delivery fees are set on the listing or, for DexTask Store, by the store checkout rules. They are not a percentage of the item price. A more expensive product does not, by itself, create a higher delivery fee.
If one checkout contains more than one item, each item is its own order for delivery, dispute, and return. Returning one item does not return the others. A delivery discount that applied because several items were delivered together is recalculated only to the extent the product already does that. This policy does not create an extra discount.
Section 11 states when the delivery fee is refunded.
17. Counterfeit, stolen, and prohibited goods
Listings for stolen goods, counterfeit items sold as genuine, weapons, illegal drugs, and other prohibited goods are not allowed. See the Terms and Conditions and the Community Guidelines.
If a buyer receives such an item, they should not resell it. They should contact support@dextask.app, keep the messages, and follow any lawful instruction from support or from the authorities. Where the buyer paid and the payment can still be refunded, DexTask will refund the buyer and will act on the seller's account. DexTask may keep the listing and order records for that review.
18. Website pages and Google product listings
Shop and product pages on dextask.app, including https://www.dextask.app/products, are public descriptions. They tell the reader to buy in the DexTask App. A page view is not an order. A return right starts only when there is an order in the App under this policy.
Prices on those pages are in Nigerian Naira. Delivery is campus delivery in Nigeria. This return policy applies in Nigeria. DexTask does not offer international postal returns.
19. Contact
Email support@dextask.app or use Profile, then Help and support, in the App. Include:
- the email on the DexTask account;
- the order number, including a DX number for DexTask Store;
- the Paystack reference if you paid by Paystack;
- photos;
- the date of handover;
- whether you have confirmed receipt.
We aim to reply within one business day. We cannot speed up a receiving bank.
Inquiries that are not an order problem can go to inquiry@dextask.app.
20. Changes
We may update this page as Campus Market changes. The date at the top is the date of the current text. For a material change, we will give notice as the Terms and Conditions describe. A change does not rewrite an order that was already placed, except where the law requires it or where the old text and the App were in conflict and the order record shows which rule the buyer actually accepted.
21. How this page fits with the other documents
Read this page together with:
